This is strange. The first time I ran into Gwen, as a ranger, she gave me the flute quest and I did it. I also let her follow me for a while. Then I tried out a few other professions: warrior/monk, ele/mes, necro/never got to secondary, and now a monk/ranger. I could swear I skipped her quest as everyone else but the monk/ranger.
However, when I was new to the monk, with no secondary, there was no Gwen. I was given a quest by the trainer there to rescue her. She was across the river and afraid to come back because of the skales (scales?). So I killed them and she followed me back. Now she won't give me the flute quest, she only wants to follow me around. Every time I see her she's dancing around with her flute. Just now I ran into Sarah. This is the first time I have ever seen her so I clicked her and she mentions running out of myrtle weed. I thought, huh? I've never seen myrtle weed. I know the only place I haven't explored very much is the catacombs, if myrtle weed is there I don't know. It's odd that sarah is standing right next to the rezz pod thingy. Usually there's an academy monk standing there. I wonder if she's there because I'm playing the monk. Now I don't know if it's worth searching all over for myrtle weed. Oh, and I've never given Gwen the flowers or cape, though someone I know said when they gave her flowers she healed him. I thought she only did that if you allowed her to follow you. |

With my first character I gave her like 15 flowers and a flute but she never gave me anything. My second character I gave her like only 6 flowers and she gave me it. Maybe it was because I gave them to her a lot faster.

Just an FYI for people confused as to why sometimes Gwen comes "equipped" with the flute and cape...if you party up with someone (like for the Rez signet quest) whom has already given her those items, she will "have" them for you from now on.
I don't know if this breaks the quest to get the Tapestry Shred, or just allieviates the need for you to buy her the flute and/or cape. |

Has anyone tried to interact with Sarah's ghost in the Underworld when they had the tapestry shred on them?

Shes hiding something, and im taking bets that its something...dirty.. just like George Bush and the 9/11 *suprise suprise* attack on teh twin towers :O "ONOES! ~*whispers*~controlled demolition ftl... good luck

There is nothing wrong with replying to old threads when you have something to contribute, or the information contained within it continues to be relevant.
Just purely educational clarification, as I've found some threads are reported for no reason other than an old date, when the content is still valid or relevant. In this case, there's nothing constructive about this bump, and the discussion of Gwen's involvement in Guild Wars: Eye of the North is already active in other threads, and thread closure is warranted. |
